Positive: Villa les Cades exceeded all expectations! Communication with the hosts was excellent. Though we didn't get to meet Jacques, he was always available by text. His friends, Yves and Evelyne, were wonderful. They met us when we arrived, showed us everything and then checked in with us every day to make sure we had what we needed. When we first arrived and walked into the bottom floor of the villa (ie all the rooms are on the "ground floor" floor) all we could say was wow when we looked out the floor to ceiling windows. It was magical. I can't say enough about the view, which you could see from every room. The view particularly from the living room and the dining room was stunning. Wonderful to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner and look out. The outside of course was spacious. There were only 2 of us - so we had the pool, hot tub and the outside sofas all to ourselves! The weather was almost perfect. (We were there for a week in April 2026) It only rained one day, BUT with the view, it really was a nice day to stay inside and catch up reading, writing etc... We didn't go far, spent a morning in St Tropez (taking the ferry), a couple of half days going to St Maxime, and we drove around the area for a bit - going for walks along the coast at different spots. We spent most of our time in the villa. Such a wonderful place to catch your breath!!!
Negative: Absolutely nothing!! Though I did wish that the sun didn't set so quickly over the mountains!!! So glad we had rented a little Fiat 500 - I think driving around in a bigger car would've made navigating the small winding roads to go up the mountainside/hillside to the villa much more challenging! (And the Fiat was so much fun!!)
Summary: Best location - Magnificent view. We didn't want to leave the villa!!
